Economic Assessment: The wider economic impacts of the SH20 Waterview connection
Transit New Zealand (November 2007)
This research paper assessed the economic benefits of the Waterview Connection, which will provide an alternative state highway route through the Auckland region. Based on a quantitative framework developed by the UK Department for Transport, this research established that key economic areas, such as the CBD, State Highway 1 corridor, and Rosebank, would benefit from improved accessibility, and that this would lead to opportunities for greater employment intensification and consequent productivity increases.
