Funding advice: Auckland–Manukau Eastern Transport Initiative (AMETI)

The AMETI project team (2005, ongoing)

AMETI is a major multi-party transport project in Auckland’s eastern suburbs. The project is designed to integrate transport modes and land use as a catalyst for more sustainable economic development in the East Tamaki area. With AMETI expected to cost around $1.2 billion over the next ten years, funding for the project is a major issue.

Ascari has been engaged as a funding advisor to the AMETI project team. This involvement has included providing day to day advice on the funding issues associated with the project, developing a strategy outlining how the project could be funded, and leading the successful application to Land Transport New Zealand for design and consultation funding for the project ($24 million).
